Speech Notebook Wednesday

I wrote about it here, but on Saturday night we went to Nate's Blue and Gold Banquet, which is the big Cub Scout awards extravaganza.

Charlotte was particularly taken (or not, as the case may be) by the evening's entertainment, which consisted of a man from a local animal rescue organization and his many friends, shown here.

He must have done this many times before, because his show was perfectly tailored for his audience (elementary school boys), and half of the animals he brought were reptiles. Those same reptiles, however, were not as popular with the moms in the crowd.

Or with little sisters in attendance. Except for Hattie, of course, who was one of the first in line when given the opportunity to pet the snake.

My take? I'm with Charlotte. The armadillo was super cool, but the snake, the snapping turtle, and the alligator were yucky. Where's the guy with the baby bunnies?
